You may have started to see them pop up in your local beauty stores: skincare and wellness products infused with cannabis. Not too long ago, in some countries like the USA and Canada, people considered cannabis to be a substance as dangerous as heroin.

However, the cultural attitude towards cannabis is rapidly shifting as more people are rediscovering the plant’s revitalizing health benefits. Throughout most of history, people did not intend to use cannabis to “get high.”

Cannabis has a history of wellness dating back to 500 BC in Asia, where people used it as herbal medicine. Today, people are rediscovering its medicinal use in places where the plant was historically demonized. In this article, we’ll explore some of the benefits that come with incorporating cannabis products into your wellness routine.

These products don’t induce the type of psychoactive “high” normally associated with cannabis; instead, they provide a wide range of mental and physical benefits that shouldn’t be overlooked!

Cannabis Bath Bombs

Cannabis bath bombs are a luxurious bath product infused with CBD, THC, or a combination of both. These bath bombs fizz and dissolve when dropped into a warm bath, releasing their beneficial ingredients into the water. Containing essential oils, salts, and cannabis oils, these bath bombs offer a soothing, spa-like experience.

Cannabis bath bombs offer lots of wellness benefits, especially for relaxation and skin health. The cannabinoids in the bath bomb help alleviate muscle tension and soreness, making them an excellent choice for post-workout recovery or simply unwinding after a long day. The anti-inflammatory properties of cannabis can reduce swelling and pain in the joints and muscles.

Essential oils and other ingredients in bath bombs nourish the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. The soothing effects can provide significant relief for people with conditions like eczema or psoriasis. Not to mention, the aromatic experience of a cannabis-infused bath can help reduce anxiety, creating a sense of calm and well-being.

CBD Oil

Cannabidiol oil, abbreviated as CBD oil, derives from the cannabis plant. CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it doesn’t produce a “high” like THC, the psychoactive ingredient in cannabis. This oil comes from hemp plants, specifically bred marijuana plants with low THC, extracted from flowers, leaves, and stalks. The oil is then diluted with another oil, such as coconut or avocado oil, and people can consume it under the tongue, add it to foods and drinks, or apply it to the skin.

CBD oil is well-known for its therapeutic benefits, such as pain relief, reduction of anxiety and depression, and anti-inflammatory properties. Many people use it to manage chronic pain conditions such as arthritis or fibromyalgia. CBD significantly reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression by interacting with serotonin receptors in the brain.

Furthermore, its anti-inflammatory properties make it useful for skin conditions like acne and eczema. Users often use CBD oil in snacks, baking, or by applying it under their tongue before workouts or bedtime.

Cannabis Lotion

Cannabis lotion infused with cannabinoids like CBD or THC serves as a topical moisturizer designed for direct application to the skin. Similar to bath bombs, these lotions often contain additional beneficial ingredients like essential oils, vitamins, and moisturizing agents to enhance their effects.

They provide effects like pain relief, anti-aging, or hydration. Unlike ingested or inhaled cannabis, cannabis lotion works locally, interacting with the cannabinoid receptors in the skin without entering the bloodstream.

Cannabis lotions provide targeted relief for a variety of skin and muscle issues. The anti-inflammatory properties of cannabinoids can help reduce redness, swelling, and pain in conditions such as arthritis, muscle strains, and chronic pain syndromes- and can simply provide great relief after a long day. This makes cannabis lotions particularly beneficial for athletes or people with physically demanding lifestyles!

Additionally, these lotions can be incredibly moisturizing, helping to soothe dry or irritated skin. For people with skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis, cannabis lotions can provide much-needed relief by reducing itching and inflammation. The antioxidant properties of cannabinoids can also aid in combating signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, fostering healthier, more radiant skin.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp seed oil differs from CBD oil, which extracts cannabinoids from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the hemp plant, as it is made by cold-pressing the seeds and lacks significant amounts of cannabinoids such as CBD or THC. It’s rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, making it a healthy addition to skincare routines and diets.

Hemp seed oil offers numerous benefits due to its rich nutritional profile. When used topically, it provides excellent moisturizing properties, making it an ideal ingredient for skincare products. It helps to soothe and hydrate the skin without clogging pores, which can be beneficial for those with acne-prone skin.

The anti-inflammatory properties of hemp seed oil can also help reduce redness and irritation. Additionally, the high concentration of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in hemp seed oil supports skin health by promoting a healthy lipid barrier, which protects the skin from environmental damage and moisture loss.

CBD Shampoo

CBD shampoo is designed to cleanse the scalp and hair while directly delivering the benefits of CBD to the scalp. It often contains other natural ingredients like essential oils, botanical extracts, and vitamins to enhance its effects. Use CBD shampoo just like regular shampoo: apply it to wet hair, massage it onto the scalp, and rinse it out.

CBD offers multiple benefits for both the scalp and hair health. The anti-inflammatory properties can help soothe and calm the scalp, making it particularly effective in treating dandruff, psoriasis, or scalp eczema. By reducing inflammation and irritation, CBD shampoo can help maintain a healthier scalp environment- something essential for hair growth and strength.

For those experiencing hair loss, CBD shampoo offers benefits by promoting a healthier scalp environment and stimulating hair growth. CBD’s overall health benefits, including stress reduction, can indirectly support hair health, as high-stress levels often cause hair loss.

Using cannabis in skincare and wellness products offers various benefits, from CBD oil’s anti-inflammatory properties to the soothing effects of cannabis-infused bath products. These natural solutions can enhance well-being, offering pain relief, skin benefits, and relaxation for a balanced lifestyle.
